Why should I hire professional movers?

How long will it take to move?

Each move is different and the time it will take to complete the job will depend on a number of unique factors. If you are an individual moving to a new apartment, the number of stairs or length of the hallway, along with how many boxes you have should all be taken into account. Homeowners will want to look at these factors as well as whether or not our crews will be moving large appliances and, if so, how many. It’s also important to take into account the amount of furniture you have that requires disassembly and reassembly, as well as the number of rooms to be set up in your new home. If you need commercial moving services, you should consider the number of employees you have, the type and amount of equipment that needs moving, the distance of the move, and more.

For every project we take on, we’re happy to provide an estimate of how long it will take to complete. While we do everything we possibly can to ensure an accurate estimate, unexpected situations do arise which can lengthen the amount of time your move will take. If, for any reason, we are not able to meet our estimated delivery time, our team will let you know. We’ll be sure to keep you updated and answer any questions you have throughout the process.

How much do professional moving services cost?

At True Friends Moving Company, we offer flat-rate, hourly pricing for every job, including both residential and commercial moves. Each move is different, and your total price will depend upon various factors, such as how many boxes you have, the amount of furniture to be disassembled/reassembled, the distance of the move, and more. We are happy to provide you with a completely free, no-obligation price estimate before we begin any work. How far in advance do I need to schedule my move?

We typically recommend that you schedule your moving services with us as far in advance as possible. Oftentimes, it takes longer than you anticipate to pack everything and prepare for the move. Plus, scheduling your move far in advance will allow you greater scheduling flexibility, as our calendar will likely be more open the further it is from the date of your move. Generally speaking, you will want to schedule your moving services at least two weeks in advance of your moving date.

Though we recommend advanced scheduling, we realize that this is not always possible. At True Friends Moving Company, we do our best to handle last-minute requests. Get in contact with us today to learn more about our last-minute moving services.

Can I help speed up the moving process?

Yes! There are a few things that you can do to help speed up and streamline the moving process. If you choose not to utilize our packing services and instead are packing up your belongings yourself, make sure to have everything fully packed and labeled prior to your moving day. You can also help us streamline the process by making sure that you do not schedule other services, such as cleaning services, on the same day that our crews will be helping you move.

Do I need to empty out my dresser drawers?

No—you may leave your clothing in your dresser for easier transport. However, we do recommend that you remove any items that may roll around, causing damage to the dresser or making it more difficult for our team to move. For larger armoires and chest of drawers, we recommend that you do remove your clothes from the drawers in order to ease the moving process.

My moving day is almost here and I haven’t finished packing. What do I do?

If you are unable to finish packing by your scheduled moving day, it is important that you let your assigned Move Manager as soon as you can. From there, we can arrange to either add our packing services to your original moving service or move back the date of your move to allow for more time. Please note, we are only able to push back move dates if our schedule allows, and you may have less flexibility in choosing a specific date and time.

If you have not finished packing and only have a few things left, our movers are usually able to quickly and securely back your belongings the same day as your originally scheduled move date. It’s important to note that, should you elect to have our movers help you complete your packing, this will add time to your moving service and will therefore add to your total cost.

Can I ride along with the movers?

Unfortunately, we are not able to provide rides in the cabs of our trucks for you, your family members, or employees, as this is a liability issue. We recommend that you instead arrange for a ride with a friend or family member, or find a local cab or drive share service.

If the weather is bad, can you still complete the move?

Yes! We are able to complete your move even during inclement weather, such as rain, hail, sleet, etc. As always, our crews will take the utmost care to ensure that your belongings are kept free of damage and safely delivered to your new location.

How should I prepare my large appliances for moving?

At True Friends Moving Company, we are able to disconnect and reconnect most major appliances, excluding gas. We are not licensed to disconnect or reconnect gas appliances, such as stoves, ovens, dryers, and more. However, we are happy to help you with electrical appliances, including microwaves, lights, and more. To prepare your appliances, please remove everything from inside them and have them cleaned and ready to go.
